There are several food groups that are known to have positive results for gout sufferers. These would include whole grains, raw fruits and vegetables, nut and seeds. All of these groups are excellent sources of natural fiber that are beneficial for the eliminatation of uric acid. Other recommendations include:

Cherries, strawberries and other berries contain compounds that are known to help neutrilize uric acid.

Essential fatty acids, contained in flaxseed and fish, are extremely beneficial as they can help reduce the inflammation associated with gout.

Try to avoid refined carbohydrates and foods high in saturated and hydorgenated fats and oils.
